Dip-a-dip-dip

I guess everybody knows Madeline Poole's 'dip'? Well, I finally did it! I think it goes really well with the simple striped pattern.
I usually don't paint stripes on my nails, because I always think they're just not perfect enough.

Here's what I used:
Catrice - Welcome to Roosywood as base colour
NYC - City Blackout
Essence Studio Nails - top sealer
Again I used the silver glitters I got at Born Pretty, love them!

Do you often paint stripes on your nails?

Minty Leopard

Here's one of my first attempts on leopard nails and my first attempt on framing. OK, the framing wasn't so hard to do, because I just had to put on the glitters one by one.

I really love how this turned out. My original plan was to put roses on my pinky and my thumb, but the pink just didn't match the mint and the nude. But : *prouuuud*

The mint is Hema 82, the nude is from Essence Nude Glam - 05 Toffee to go. These two colours go so well together! For the leopard print I used Hema 82 and also Catrice - Jade is not my name. The black is NYC - 119 City Blackout and as a topcoat I used Essence Studio Nails - top sealer.
The glitters are from Born Pretty Store. I recently did a review on them, you can find this here.

I looooooove nude! Who's with me, girls?

Only You Swatches

About three weeks ago I submitted one of my nail designs in a nail art contest. And guess what! I won three polishes!

And here they are! As you see, they're Only You polishes. Only You is a new brand of nailpolish, sold at Ici Paris XL.
You can compare these polishes to Catrice's. It's more or less the same quality and they got exactly the same brush!

I won (from left to right) Geisha, Stormy Monday and Fabulous. And I swatched them for you:

First up is Geisha.

3 layers of Geisha
I used 3 layers of this milky, sheer pink polish. There's no full coverage possible, I guess. But you can use it as a base colour when you are doing a classic French.

Next is Stormy Monday.
2 layers of Stormy Monday
Stormy Monday is a grey polish, but it has tiny pink and purple glitters in it. So at first I was like: "Hmmhmm", but after the second layer I was like "Yay-YAY-YAAAY!"
P.S.: it's similar to chanel paradoxal! :-) only a tad greyer.

And last but definitly not least: here's Fabulous!
3 layers of Fabulous
This is the colour I got after a third layer of Fabulous. When I got the first layer on my nails, the colour was red! Just simple red. Something I didn't expect when I saw the bottle.

I really think this polish is fabulous, it's a classy colour and it has a shiny finish.
One thing, it's really hard to remove it, my fingertips were bright red and I didn't get it off, ahhhh.
But still, I love it, yay!

Do you have any Only You polishes?

Born Pretty order

A fortnight ago a placed my first order at Born Pretty Store. They got a lot of stuff and supercheap! And also, it's free shipping, worldwide!
So, I was super impatient for it to arrive, and then finally! Last Tuesday my mom texted my that my package had arrived! I was sooo happy and couldn't wait to get home from school.

Here's what I ordered:
  • Nail art brushes, 3 pc (here, $3.15)
  • Small nail art brushes, 4 pc (here, $3.51)
  • Dotting tools, 5 pc (here, $4.09)
  • Elliptic shape rhinestones (here, $2.92)
  • Round shape rhinestones (here, $3.33)
  • Nail lacquer thinner (here, $7.45)
  • Silver hexagon glitter (here, $2.38)
  • Foam nail art stand (here, $3.38)
  • Acrylic nail tips, 500 pc (here, $6.02)
  • 7-way nail file and buffer (here, $1.53)

For all this I had to pay, prrrrprrrrprrrrrr, € 29,04!

Nail art brushes
These three brushes are great for cleaning your nails and cuticles after you polished them. Ofcours, you can also use them for doing nail art on your nails.

Small nail art brushes
I absolutely LOVE these nail art brushes. First, I only had one, not really good, brush and now I have four! They're pretty amazing and they do an incredible job. Emily said these brushes are a must-buy, she's right!

Dotting tools

Ah, finally I got my own real dotting tools. Each tool has a different size of dot on one side, and on the other side they all got the same dot. Apart from dotting, you can also use them for picking up rhinestones, or drawing lines, so they come in handy very often.

Elliptic rhinestones
EEEEEEEEH rhinestones! :-)

Round rhinestones
EEEEEEEEH rhinestones! :-)²

Silver glitter

I'm so happy with this glitter. I thought it just was a silver glitter, but when I unwrapped it, I saw it has a bit of a holographic effect, which i like. You can use a dotting tool to pick up the glitters one by one and put them on your nails. But you can also just dip your finger in the jar. Hellloooooo disco nails!

Foam nail art stand

First, I saw this nail art stand on Emily's blog. When I was at her place, I immediatly knew I needed this! You can stick an acrylic nail tip on top of it, so you can easely paint and decorate your tips!

My nails feel like soft like a baby's bottom, so thumbs up for this one!

In case you're wondering why there is no picture of the thinner, well it's just a bottle. Not really interesting to look at. BUT it does an amazing, incredible, fantastic job. It already saved some of my polishes, yay!

Have you ever ordered something at Born Pretty Store

Eyeballzzzzz

A few days ago I saw these awesome Eyeball nails by Nailed by Ally and I instantly fell in love with them. Soooo, I decided to give it a try!

And here are my Eyeball nails!

Here's what I used:
- Essence - Toffee to go
- Acrylic paint
- Essence - Top sealer

How often do you use acrylic paint? (I secretly love it, because you don't have to redo your nails from scratch when you're not pleased with the result :-) )
